As a signatory to the World Anti Doping Code, Virtus has recently updated its policy and procedures to ensure compliance with the upcoming 2021 version of the code.
Following approval by the Governing Board in September, the policy was subsequently approved for publication by WADA. The new code includes new and updated policies and guidance in the ongoing fight against doping in sport and comes into effect globally on 1st January 2021.
Trudi Jackson (Chair Virtus Anti-Doping Committee) said “I would like to thank WADA for the fantastic support they gave us as we worked through this project and delighted that we were able to conclude it more than 3 months ahead of the deadline. Virtus is committed to ensuring clean sport for all athletes with an intellectual impairment and I urge all member organisations to ensure they have updated their own policies and procedures ahead of its implementation”.
A copy of the 2021 policy is available on the Virtus website.
