Recently we launched the Virtus Global Challenge Series – a new programme of virtual events and competition that athletes can participate in wherever they are in the world.
Today we are pleased to add new challenges including cycling and rowing and, following feedback from members, we have also simplified the entry process for the football/futsal skills challenge.
- Rowing Challenge – Virtus will release a new challenge/workload on our website every 3 weeks beginning on Friday 9th October. Rowers can enter as many or as few of the challenges as they wish, recording their entry and submitting it to us online. We’ll be publishing weekly leaderboards and full details of how to enter can be found here.
- Cycling Challenge – We are pleased to invite cyclists to our new Strava Cycling group. We’ll be looking for those cyclists who record the greatest distances or biggest climbs each week and we’ll be publishing leaderboards so that athletes can track their progress. Leaderboards will begin on Monday 12th October and will reset every 2 weeks so that new athletes can join the challenge. Full details of how to enter can be found here.
- Football Challenge – We have simplified the rules and a new skill will be released on the Virtus website every 3 weeks beginning on Friday 9th October. A short youtube video will demonstrate the skill and players can submit their entry online. Full details of how to enter can be found here.
The Global Challenge Series is open to all athletes who hold a minimum of a Virtus national eligibility. Eligibility may be held in any sport and athletes can join as many different challenges as they wish.
We’ll be adding details of prizes for winners in the coming days.
There is no cost to enter the Global Challenge Series, but athletes must hold a valid Virtus competition licence. Licenses can be renewed online here.
We look forward to seeing as many athletes as possible in the series – and remember to look out for regular updates on the Virtus website!
