The sixth edition of the Virtus Global Games took center stage in Vichy, France, from June 4 to June 10, 2023. Hosted by the Fédération Française du Sport Adapté (FFSA), a VIRTUS Member Organization for France, this edition marked a historic milestone with over 900 athletes and coaches from 47 nations participating in the largest medal program in Virtus history.

Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Peru, and the Solomon Islands made their debut appearances in the Virtus Global Games.

Featuring thirteen sports, including athletics, basketball, cycling, equestrian, futsal, handball, judo, karate, rowing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and tennis, the Games showcased inclusivity and sporting excellence. Karate, judo, and equestrian made their debut at GG2023, enhancing the diversity of the competition.

Sanctioned by the Virtus- the International Sport Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), this edition witnessed a groundbreaking inclusion. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) offered direct qualification for II1 class winners to the Paralympic Games, Paris 2024, while the II-3 category for athletes with high-functioning autism was included as a full medal event for the first time.

Over seven intense days of competition, athletes, officials, volunteers, and spectators immersed themselves in the welcoming and inclusive spirit of the Games, fostering a sense of global unity.

In the medal tally, France emerged as the dominant force with an impressive haul of 189 medals (88 gold, 56 silver and 45 bronze), followed by Australia with 125 medals (42 gold, 41 silver and 42 bronze) and Italy with 87 medals (30 gold, 27 silver and 30 bronze).
