Athletes arrive for Open European Indoor Athletics Championships

Athletes have begun to arrive in Helsinki, Finland today in preparation for the 2011 Inas Open European Indoor Athletics Championships which take place this weekend.

More than 80 athletes representing 14 nations will participate in the event, which is organised by the Finnish Sports Association of Persons with Disabilities in partnership with Helsingin Kisa-Veikot sports club

The event begins with the Opening Ceremony on Friday 18th March at 10 am and the competition then runs until 20th March.

Hannele Pöysti, Event Manager, says “The athletes will receive a very warm welcome in Finland for the next few days! On behalf of the organising committee I wish all the athletes an unforgettable time”
